Analytics Academy – You’re Never Too Old For School

Today’s media landscape requires a mix of both creative and technical skills. In our ever-changing world of technology and media, it’s not enough to simply design a great website. You must also learn how to effectively attract and engage visitors. Which brings me to the big question of the day: Do you ever wonder if you’re getting the most out of your Google Analytics reports?

Let’s be honest. You may have regular analytics reports sent to your email. You might even review an item or two. But do you really know enough about Google Analytics to make the most of this free resource? When it comes to small businesses, I like to educate my clients as much as possible, but with a resource this vast, how could I possibly cover all the tips, tricks and terminology? Enter: Google Analytics Academy.

This free resource offers a series of short videos and lessons to help you understand how your website is performing, what parts are most valuable for you, and where it can be improved. The average video is 2-6 minutes in length, so you can learn at your own pace and focus on whichever topics interest you most.

For newbies, we recommend starting with the course: Google Analytics for Beginners. For those more familiar with analytics, you might be able to jump right into Google Analytics for Power Users. Each course provides a solid foundation for evaluating your digital marketing performance.

Not interested in a full course? Try out a few “appetizers” (pun intended) from the Google Analytics blog. Whether you can spend 5, 10 or 30 minutes to improve your knowledge of Google Analytics, I believe any time devoted to this resource will be time well spent.
